No recent activity Sticky: How does the draft process work for Havertown Hoops? It seems like the teams aren't even.
We make it our goal each year to create even teams in every league. We take the following steps to try and make that happen: 1. We hold an evaluation so the coaches can see, meet, and evaluate all of the players. Attendance at evaluations is critical. 2. We gather the information you provide us about your child (playing experience, height, etc.) and email the data to the coaches the night before the draft so everyone has the same information. 3. The league commissioner emails each coach the draft order from the previous season along the commissioner's re-drafted list so coaches can see where players should be drafted/have been drafted in the past. 4. The commissioner and the coaches agree on the pool of players in rounds 1-3 so each team has a core of talent.

No recent activity Sticky: Can I request that my child plays on the same team has his/her friend?
We do not guarantee requests under any circumstances including for carpooling. You can email your request to jhart@havtwp.org and we will let the coaches know during the draft. Guaranteeing requests negatively impacts the draft and often leads to unfair teams.

No recent activity How do the playoffs work?
Every team makes the playoffs. The playoff schedule is released in early February.

No recent activity Why is my child playing less than everyone else?
Havertown Hoops requires equal playing time during the regular season and playoffs. If a team has 10 players at a game, each player should play 20 minutes. The scorekeepers do their best to keep an eye on playing time - if they notice anything, they are instructed to let the league commissioner know. If you feel your child isn't receiving the correct amount of playing time, please address the coach PRIVATELY and RESPECTFULLY! Managing minutes can be difficult for volunteer coaches. If the problem persists after contacting the coach, please get in contact with Jesse Hart.

No recent activity Why isn't my team having more practices?
Havertown Hoops assigns each grade level a night/time of the week based on what we have available from Haverford School District and other facilities. We build practices into the schedule and offer coaches any open gym time we have at the CREC. We can't guarantee the additional time we have to offer fits your coaches schedule.
