Congratulations to Ryan Cassidy and Becket Lasalle of the Badgers (Big 10) for winning DICK’S Sporting Goods Week 7 Co-Players of the Week. In the first leg of their double-header on Saturday morning, Ryan filled up the stat-sheet with five points, three rebounds, and five assists while Becket added 14 rebounds and two points – 14 rebounds!! In the first half of the second game, Ryan had 13 points while Becket added four points and another couple of rebounds. For the Wildcats, Saeed Garrett had 16 points and two rebounds while #12 for the Wildcats had two points and five rebounds. Nicely done, boys!
Congratulations to Natalie Wright of the Red Raiders (Big 12) for winning DICK’S Sporting Goods Week 6 Player of the Week. In the Red Raiders win on Sunday afternoon against the Bears, Natalie scored 14 points in addition to half-a-dozen rebounds and a couple of assists. Natalie’s energy and hustle on the court helps motivate her entire team and makes her a great player on both sides of the ball. When she’s not playing basketball, she can be found dominating the softball diamond for Hilltop. Go Natalie!
Congratulations to Christopher Adams of the Tigers (American Conference) for winning the DICK’S Sporting Goods Week 5 Player of the Week. In the Tigers 31-20 win over the Owls on Sunday night, Christopher had 16 points and 7 rebounds; just missing out on a double-double. Christopher couldn’t have done it without the help of his teammates including 5 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds from Patrick Flynn and 4 points from Jason Kay. For the Owls, Eamon Brennan had 8 points and 3 assists, Lucas Rothstein had 4 points, 1 assist, and 7 rebounds, and Chase Taylor had 2 points and 4 rebounds. Christopher, way to go!
Congratulations to David Locher of the Rams (A-10) on winning the DICK’S Sporting Goods Week 4 Player of the Week. In the Rams win over the Hawks on Saturday afternoon, David scored 22 points; including 16 in the first half to lead all scorers. David didn’t shy away from sharing the wealth either – he added a half dozen assists and kept his teammates involved. David and his teammates were all smiles after their great performance! Keep it up, Rams.
Spend your winter break working on your skills at our three-day basketball camp! We will spend the first part of the session working on skills and drills and the rest of the morning playing small-sided games. The camp will be both fun and instructive. Players should bring a snack.
